Highland-Turner elementary mourns loss of student Jayden Spicer
BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Breathitt County is continuing to mourn the loss of 10-year-old Jayden Spicer, a Highland-Turner Elementary student who was preparing to start fourth grade this fall.
The school district announced that a moment of silence will be held in his honor, and students and staff are invited to wear blue on Thursday and Friday to remember Jayden.
Jayden’s death has shaken the community. His body was found Tuesday in a wooded area along Canoe Road in Jackson after a nearly week-long search. His mother, 33-year-old Felicia Gross, is charged in connection with his death.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. Jayden would have turned 11 in October.
