HGTV ‘Home Town’ coming to LaGrange

HGTV to expand into multi-series franchise

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A popular HGTV show Home Town is adding a new series and several towns including LaGrange, Kentucky.

According to HGTV, the network is expanding the Home Town and Home Town Takeover franchise with Home Town Kickstart. It’s a new series in partnership with PEOPLE, starring Ben and Erin Napier.

With the launch of the new series, HGTV says the franchise will encompass three linear and streaming shows — the original flagship series Home Town shot in Laurel, MS; Home Town Takeover in Wetumpka, AL, and now the all-new series Home Town Kickstart.

Scheduled to premiere in 2022, Home Town Kickstart will give six quintessential small towns across the country a major boost to re-energize their revitalization efforts and realize a much-needed fresh start, according to HGTV.

During Home Town Kickstart Presented by PEOPLE, HGTV will activate a three-pronged kickstart mission for each selected town: refresh the home of a local hero, give a small business an upgrade and invigorate a public space that will forever change the lives of everyone in the town. In addition, PEOPLE magazine will share the unique stories of each town and its most intriguing people.

In addition to LaGrange, Kentucky, HGTV says the small communities will also include: Buffalo, Wyoming; Cornwall, New York; Winslow, Arizona; Thomaston, Georgia; and Minden, Louisiana.  HGTV says the towns were selected from thousands of submissions received for the Home Town Takeover series and could use a boost to re-energize their revitalization efforts.

HGTV will premiere a new season of its flagship series Home Town on Sunday, December 26, at 8 p.m. ET. For more information, click HERE.
