Henry Clay names new head principal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Henry Clay High School has named a new head principal according to the Fayette County School District.
Antonio “Tony” Blackman has been appointed as the new principal of Henry Clay High School, effective July 1.
With 27 years in education, Blackman has served Fayette County Public Schools in various roles, most recently as associate principal at Lexington Traditional Magnet School.
“Mr. Blackman’s extensive experience and commitment to whole-student development make him the ideal candidate to lead HCHS,” said Superintendent Demetrus Liggins.
Blackman’s career with FCPS began at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, teaching History and Advanced Citizenship.
He has held positions at Woodford County Middle School, East Jessamine High School, and served as freshman principal and associate principal at Paul Laurence Dunbar.
At LTMS, Blackman was instrumental in school management, family engagement, and athletics.
He holds degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and Asbury College, and has certifications in Political Science, History, and Sociology.
