Heavy damage avoided when people put out fire before firefighters arrived
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A home suffered minor damage Monday night from a kitchen fire that was put out by people using a fire extinguisher in the home before Lexington firefighters arrived, according to investigators.
The fire was called in just before 7 p.m. in the 5000 block of Leestown Road, according to firefighters.
Initially a dozen Lexington fire units were called to the scene, but fortunately weren’t needed. No one was hurt, according to investigators.
