Hawkins has surgery, ready to rehab

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Dominique Hawkins had surgery on his broken right hand bone this morning.

All went well.

Coach Cal tweeted out the junior guard should be back in four weeks.

Hawkins’ high school school Allen Feldhaus said it may be closer to six weeks.

Three screws were needed to set the bone in Hawkins’ hand instead of the originally planned two.

So that may set things back a little.

It’s a tough deal for Hawkins who started to come out of his shell last season when Tyler Ulis was sidelined early in the year.

Hawkins felt like he became a different guy between the lines last season.

Hear from Hawkins in the video.
