Harrodsburg police search for car thief who was caught on camera

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Harrodsburg Police Department is trying to track down suspects they say ransacked vehicles in one neighborhood then stole a car.

Police say it happened in the Alexander Heights neighborhood in Harrodsburg Friday morning.

Video surveillance from one home shows a car pull up near the driveway of the home and a man get out of the passenger side. He walks over to an unlocked truck parked in the driveway and rummages through it.

Police say after he did that, he went to the home next door and stole a 2012 Camry that had the keys inside.

Police believe the suspect and an accomplice also went through several other vehicles in the neighborhood but say there have been no reports of items missing.
