Harlan County man dies from electrocution accident
HARLAN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A 49-year-old man has died from electrocution in Harlan County, according to the Harlan County Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred on the evening of August 6, 2024.
The Harlan County Coroner’s Office reported being called to the Harlan ARH Emergency Department at 7:44 PM due to the electrocution death. Upon arrival, Coroner John Derrick Noe pronounced the man dead from injuries sustained by accidental electrical means.
The coroner’s office indicated that the victim was using a homemade wood-burning instrument when he came into contact with an electrical current, causing him to go into cardiac arrest. Despite efforts by family members and Lifeguard EMS crews to revive him, he was pronounced dead on arrival by medical staff at the emergency department.
