Harlan Co. man arrested after trying to run over troopers, leading them on pursuit
TREMONT, Ky. (WTVQ)- State Police say a Harlan County man attempted to run over a trooper after being asked to get out of his car.
Troopers say they approached 35-year-old David Estes’ car and after asking for identification, they realized Estes had active warrants. They say they asked Estes to get out of the car and attempted to run over a trooper. The trooper chased Estes for about a mile when Estes lost control of the car and was stuck in a ditch. Estes tried to run off, but was arrested after a brief struggle.
Police say there was a female passenger in the car, but she was not injured during the incident. She was not charged.
Estes was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with over 10 charges.
