Handel’s Messiah performance at Christ Church Cathedral

Handel’s Messiah is a traditional Holiday favorite.  Soloists include Grammy winning tenor Richard Clement and English Countertenor and Grammy nominee Ryland Angel. The Choruses will be sung by the Cathedral Choir, accompanied by the Lexington Baroque Ensemble, and directed by Erich Balling.  Historic Christ Church Cathedral offered the first Lexington performance of this work in the early 1800’s.

Our choir is similar to the choirs you see at the English Royal weddings as they include children and teens who sing the soprano parts. These youth attend our choir program and this choir sings most services at the Cathedral.  The choir has sung at the National Cathedral in Washington, D. C., and many English churches and Cathedrals including Westminster Abbey.  They will be a choir in residence at Canterbury Cathedral, England next summer.
