LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ)- One week after being canceled due to the weather, the annual Halloween Variety Show and Thriller Parade returned to Lexington Sunday afternoon.

The event brought thousands to the park for dance performances, food trucks, and of course, the Thriller Parade.

The festival also included local food and drink vendors.

The parade is usually held downtown, but was moved to the fairgrounds at Masterson Station Park. The change in location didn’t stop the excitement, as both parade participants and city leaders were ready to continue their Halloween season for one more weekend.

“We just love getting to do it as a mother daughter, it’s just so fun. We love that Lexington has these kinds of opportunities,” says Kayla Russell, who participated with her daughter Isabella.

“It’s probably one of my favorite events here in Lexington. It’s been such a long tradition and just awesome to see everyone and embracing it. Halloween is my favorite holiday so any excuse I can have to dress up, had to do it,” says Lexington Vice-Mayor Dan Wu.

This was the twenty-first year the annual parade has been held.
