Habit for Humanity partnership on home build
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Habitat for Humanity teamed up with Bank of America on Friday for a volunteer day at a home construction site, as part of an ongoing partnership to support affordable housing in the community.
According to Habitat for Humanity, Bank of America has committed $37,000 toward the construction of the home. Volunteers spent the day working on phase three of the build, which focused on painting, installing cabinets, and completing interior details.
“It’s really impactful to do this work in the community to provide a pathway to affordable homeownership because the impacts of that homeownership go far beyond just a home,” said Lexington Habitat for Humanity Communications Manager Laura Daley.
In addition to this project, Lexington Habitat for Humanity has announced the start of construction on its 500th home. Those interested in volunteering can find more information at lexhabitat.org.
