Guns, ammunition found in car after police killed Kentucky youth
ESSEX, Md. (AP) — Police in Maryland say officers found guns and ammunition in a car driven by a Kentucky youth who authorities shot and killed after he shot a police officer.
Baltimore County Police say in a news release Tuesday that they found four .38 caliber handguns, one 9 mm handgun, a shotgun, and a backpack with ammunition for all of the weapons recovered.
Authorities say two of the weapons found in the SUV 16-year-old Jason Hendrix was driving were loaded.
Hendrix was suspected of killing his family execution-style last week before fleeing the small Southern town of Corbin, Kentucky. He was shot and killed Saturday after he shot an officer in Essex, Maryland.
That officer has been released from the hospital.
The six officers involved in the shooting remain on administrative leave.
