Gun violence awareness day in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) -Friday marks National Gun Violence Awareness Day, with people nationwide donning orange in solidarity with shooting victims and rallying against gun violence. In Lexington, as reported by ABC36 News Now, there have been six deadly shootings and at least 30 non-fatal shootings so far this year.

At noon, officials from ‘Moms Demand Action’ will host a Gun Violence Awareness Day rally at the Courthouse Plaza on North Limestone. Organizers are encouraging all participants to wear orange as a visible sign of their support for ending gun violence.
