Greenup County man accused of shooting another man in the head

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Troopers say a man is accused of shooting another man in the head in Wurtland on Monday

Kentucky State Police says 61-year-old Michael Meade called and said 59-year-old Herman D. Bays had shot him in the head. Troopers say Meade reported the shooting happened on Roar Cemetery Road.

Troopers say Meade was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

KSP says Bays then barricaded himself inside a residence. Troopers say he eventually came to the door and was arrested without further incident.

Bays is charged with assault. Troopers say more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
