Green’s Toyota of Lexington gives back to local students
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Green’s Toyota of Lexington is helping local families gear up for the new school year by donating backpacks to students at Yates Elementary as part of a nationwide giveback effort.
The dealership handed out supplies to 400 students through Toyota’s annual summer giveback program, which is part of a national partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation. More than 650 Toyota dealerships across the country are participating this year, aiming to support 70,000 students with essential school supplies.
“It’s one less thing they have to worry about getting ready for school,” said Lynda Stevenson, Yates Elementary Family Resource Coordinator. “A lot of changes are happening in the district with communication and transportation, so supplies is one less thing they have to worry about.”
The back-to-school initiative is focused on easing the burden for families and helping students start the year prepared and confident.
