Green Alert canceled after missing Richmond veteran Nathan Branstutter found dead
RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Authorities have canceled the Green Alert for Nathan Branstutter after he was found dead Monday evening.
According to an update from Richmond Police Department, Branstutter was located just after 6:30 p.m. Officials confirmed his death Tuesday morning and shared condolences with his family and loved ones.
Police also recognized Branstutter’s service as a U.S. military veteran, thanking him for his commitment to the country and asking the community to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
The Green Alert had been issued earlier as authorities searched for Branstutter, describing him as a 45-year-old man with brown hair and beard, green eyes, and an owl tattoo on his left arm. He was believed to be driving a black Chevrolet Silverado with veteran license plates.
Green Alerts are used in Kentucky when a missing veteran is believed to be in danger, helping quickly spread information to the public.
