Great Crossing’s Moreno is a McDonald’s All American

UK commit was nominated earlier in January

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Great Crossing High School center and University of Kentucky men’s basketball signee Malachi Moreno is on the final roster for the McDonald’s All American Game in Brooklyn, New York on April 1.

Moreno is the 79th McDonald’s All American to sign with UK and the only player from Kentucky in the final field of 24 players, 12 for each team.

He joins six other homegrown Kentuckians who have played for the Blue and White to receive the honor.

Moreno is the only UK commit on the final roster where he will play for the East team alongside highly touted twin brothers, Cayden and Cameron Boozer, who are committed to Duke.

On the opposing side of the court, a former Kentucky target will face off against Moreno.

Caleb Wilson, who chose North Carolina over UK, is on the West team.
