Great Crossing High staff in Scott County, Lincoln County deputy tests positive
SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Schools may have been closed for more than two months but staff still are in and out and a Scott County schools staff member has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy who has been on the front lines of dealing with the coronavirus also has tested positive, the department announced Thursday night.
“Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that one of the deputies has tested positive for COVID-19. They are asymptomatic. Your county is still being patrolled and calls are still being answered. KSP, Stanford City, Hustonville Police along with surrounding counties are helping us out. In a emergency call 911. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers,” the department said.
Meanwhile, the Scott County school district said it was notified Thursday afternoon an employee at Great Crossing High School, the district’s new school, tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee lives in Lexington.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Great Crossing High School will immediately be cleaned following CDC guidelines. We are working closely with the Wedco District Health Department and following their guidance,” the school district said in a statement.
That would include contact tracing and other steps of any other staff that might have had contact with the worker.
