Grayson man accused of shooting father in head

GRAYSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Grayson man is behind bars, accused of shooting his father in the back of his head.

According to the Grayson Journal News, Kentucky State Police arrested 37-year-old Gary Everman Jr. Thursday at a home on Rockhouse Road.

The newspaper says troopers responded to the home around 2 p.m. after getting a call about a shooting.

The victim, Gary Everman Sr., was taken to the hospital by his brother.

The newspaper says police reported that, when they approached Everman Jr., he was walking down the driveway and said “I shot my dad in the head.”

Everman Jr. is charged with attempted murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in Carter County District Court Monday at 1 p.m.
