Graduation parade becomes new senior tradition for Scott County students

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Around this time last year, many events were canceled, including most in-person graduations due to the pandemic.

In its place, some schools in Scott County put on a graduation parade in vehicles.

It was a socially distanced solution last year, but now it has become a new tradition for some Scott County schools.

On Wednesday, three schools participated in this mobile celebration, including Phoenix Horizon Community, Scott County High School and Great Crossing High School.

A lot of seniors decorated their vehicles with signs, balloons and smiles.

At least one-hundred students participated in the parade.

Many of the seniors called the parade a new right of passage that they hope no future student miss out on.
