Governor: Kentucky counties approved for disaster assistance loans

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentuckians hit by severe storms and flooding earlier this year can get federal assistance.

Governor Matt Bevin says he received confirmation Wednesday that the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved disaster assistance loans for those affected by the storms from February 21 through March 21, 2018.

The governor says the U.S. Small Business Administration will make low-interest disaster loans available to homeowners, renters and business owners who suffered damages during that time period.

Kentucky Emergency Management says the loans will help people and small businesses replace personal property, real property and equipment that was lost or damaged.

Primary counties included in the SBA declaration are Hardin and Jefferson, along with the contiguous counties of Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hart, LaRue, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby and Spencer.

Information about what types of loans are available, how to apply and deadlines for loan packets is available atsba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance .
