Governor Beshear Signs School Emergency Allergy Medication Bill

Schools across Kentucky are now encouraged to have emergency medications on hand to treat allergic reactions.

House Bill 172 encourages schools to carry two epinephrine auto-injectors, also known as epi-pens. The bill was signed by Governor Beshear Monday afternoon.

The bill originally mandated that schools carry the epi-pens, but legislators changed it to say ‘encouraged.’
