Gov. Andy Beshear responds to Minneapolis school shooting tragedy

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is reacting to the school shooting tragedy in Minneapolis, calling it another heartbreaking reminder of the need to keep children safe in schools.

“American children should be safe and feel safe in their schools, yet today our country faces more heartbreak as we learn of another school shooting—this time in Minneapolis,” Beshear said in a statement. “Britainy and I are praying for the families, students, and teachers affected. To my friend, Governor Tim Walz, Kentucky is holding all of Minnesota in our hearts.”

The shooting is under investigation by Minnesota officials.
