Gorton, Bastin top finishers in Lexington mayoral race

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The top two Lexington mayoral race candidates have been named as Linda Gorton and Ronnie Bastin.

Linda Gorton was Vice Mayor and Council Member, and says she was in a leadership role that touched nearly every aspect of the city she says she love.  During her 16 years in elected office, she says she established a reputation as a committed, competent and strong leader who works to address the most difficult issues.

Ronnie Bastin joined the Lexington Police force in 1984, he worked his way up through the ranks and was appointed Police Chief in 2008 by Mayor Jim Newberry and appointed Public Safety Commissioner in 2015 by Mayor Jim Gray.
