Good Giving a great opportunity to invest in your community

Bluegrass Community and Technical College Good Giving Challenge starts on Nov. 30

LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ/BCTC) — Bluegrass Community and Technical College is holding the Good Giving Challenge again this year.

According to BCTC, the challenge will be Nov.30- Dec. 6.

Good giving Challenge supports BCTC students at campuses in Danville, Georgetown, Lawrenceburg, and Winchester.

Scholarships and enrollment in dual credit classes while in high school can help reduce, and sometimes completely eliminate, college debt for students.

According to BCTC, when investment is made in students through the Good Giving Challenge, BCTC is able to offer this opportunity to more students, many low-income and underrepresented.

Last year through the Good Giving Challenge, over $44,000 was invested in students at the regional campuses, according to BCTC.

In addition to reducing financial stress, students who benefit from these opportunities gain confidence, meet college readiness standards, build college success skills and prepare for a career that can change the trajectory of their lives. These life changes not only benefit the student, but also their families and communities.

According to BCTC, BCTC transforms the Bluegrass Region one student, one employer, and one community at a time. With students at the heart of its mission, BCTC supports student access, completion of educational goals through comprehensive support services, and, ultimately, success.
