‘Golden Alert’ issued for missing Lexington man

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Golden Alert was issued just after midnight Thursday for a missing Lexington man who has early onset dementia, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say 85-year old Dwight Newton was last seen on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, around 6:00 p.m., when he left to visit his wife’s gravesite at the Bluegrass Memorial Cemetery in Nicholasville.

Investigators say he could also be near the Versailles Road area.

He was driving a gray 2005 Kia Sorento with Kentucky license plate 065MXL, according to police.

The family says despite the early onset dementia, Newton refuses treatment and medication.
