Golden Alert issued for missing Laurel County man

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department says a Golden Alert has been issued for an 81-year-old Laurel County man.

Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating Tommy Grimes.

Grimes was reported missing on Friday, June 21, after he was last seen on U.S. 25, two miles north of London, on Thursday, June 20, at 4 P.M.

Grimes is described as 5’9″ tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a thin build and partially gray hair above his ears. He was wearing a red plaid western shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes at the time of his disappearance.

He is believed to be driving a white box truck and may have traveled to Florida.

Anyone with information on where Grimes might be is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at 606-864-6600, the 911 dispatch center, or send a personal message to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Tommy Houston is investigating/assisted by Laurel Emergency Management Center Director Justin Noe, in the search for Grimes.
