GoFundMe set up for man killed in alleged DUI hit-and-run
CLAY CITY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help cover funeral expenses for 42-year-old Ross Hicks, who was killed in an alleged DUI hit-and-run Tuesday night in Clay City.
According to Kentucky State Police, Hicks was struck and killed while walking along Main Street near Dairy Queen. His niece says the fundraising page will help pay for funeral costs and a headstone through Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton. As of Wednesday, the campaign has raised over $5,000.
The driver, 25-year-old Alyson Martin of Jeffersonville, is now charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and tampering with physical evidence. State police say the investigation remains ongoing.
