GoFundMe created to help women found shot during fire in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A GoFundMe account has been established to aid Nancey Erwin, who was found shot during a house fire last month. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Erwin was discovered in a car outside a burning home on Jeremiah Drive and was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.

Firefighters later found a body inside the home, but the identity of the deceased person remains unknown at this time. The GoFundMe page states that Erwin was allegedly shot in the face by someone she was trying to help.

So far, the fundraiser has garnered nearly $6,000 to assist with Erwin’s medical expenses and recovery. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and seek more information about the person found dead inside the home.
