God’s Pantry opens first school pantry at Bryan Station
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A short ceremony was held Tuesday at Bryan Station High School for God’s Pantry as they opened their first school pantry in Fayette Co.
The pantry, created in conjunction with Fayette County Schools is part of the School Pantry Program and the Food Bank’s Childhood Hunger Initiative. Organizers say the pantry will serve all students in need at the school and their siblings, who might otherwise not have food in the evenings or over the weekend.
God’s Pantry will deliver food once a week and the Family Resource Center staff will assist students in collecting foodstuffs during school hours.
