Getting kids ready for school with ‘Friendship Fest’

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – Friendship Fest was back at the Woodford County Fair Ground Saturday, to get local kids ready for the school year.

The event held by the organization strengthening transformations.
This is the 3rd friendship fest that has been held.
The fest usually offers in person hair cuts but couldn’t this year due to COVID…instead offering hair cut vouchers from the lab barber school.
Signature “look good-feel good bags” with 10 hygiene products were also given out.

“At friendship fest we just want to have a time for the community to come together and have some free fun. The population that we serve lack these things. Something that we take for granted like hygiene products they do not offer. Or back to school which is a really hard time for parents, especially during COVID.” said Britney Campbell, Founder of Strengthening Transformations.

The organization partnered up with WellCare this year which allowed it to be bigger than normal.
