LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Georgia woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after deputies clocked her driving nearly 100 miles per hour on Interstate 75 and discovered she was a wanted fugitive, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff John Root said Deputy Zach Strong arrested 20-year-old Khai Kim of Atlanta at about 12:08 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, following a traffic stop on I-75 in London.

Deputies said Kim was driving a black Ford Escape that was clocked on radar at 99 mph and later paced at the same speed. During the stop, investigators ran Kim’s information through the National Crime Information Center, which revealed she was wanted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Kim was charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the limit, reckless driving, failure to signal, and following another vehicle too closely. She was also charged with being a fugitive from Georgia.

Kim was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
