Georgia Amoore named Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Some well-deserved praise for Georgia Amoore. On Monday, Amoore was named the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy National Player of the Week, after leading the team to victories against two top-25 teams this past week.

The cats defeated #22 Alabama at home on Thursday 65-56. Amoore had a team-high 16 points and nine assists, earning her 800th career assist over the tide.

On Sunday, the cats knocked off #13 Oklahoma on the road 95-85. Against the sooners, Amoore recorded a career-high 43 points.

Through nine SEC games, she is averaging 23 points per game, 7.8 assists per game and 2.3 rebounds per game, while also adding nine steals and one block.
