Georgetown teen found safe
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A missing 15-year-old girl has been found safe in Georgetown, and a man has been arrested in connection with the case.
According to Georgetown Police, officers responded Tuesday after the teen’s mother reported her daughter missing. Investigators say the 15-year-old was believed to be with 22-year-old Benjamin Garcia.
Police tracked them to a home on Dale Drive and later stopped a vehicle on Lexington Road. The teen was safely found and reunited with her mother.
Garcia was arrested and is facing charges including custodial interference and third-degree rape.
Authorities credited teamwork between detectives and patrol officers for helping bring the case to a safe ending.
