Georgetown restaurant a complete loss after early morning fire

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters say a fire gutted a Georgetown restaurant early Thursday morning.

Crews were called around 4:00 a.m. about a fire at Red State Taps on Opera Alley.

The rear of the building, where the smokers are located, and where the owner of the restaurant says the fire started, took on major damage.

Firefighters say the side-paneling of a home next door melted from the heat of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.
