Georgetown Police accepting applications for fall Citizens Police Academy
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Ever wondered what it’s like to walk in a police officer’s shoes? The Georgetown Police Department is offering residents a rare, behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement through its upcoming Citizens Police Academy.
The free 10-week program begins September 9 and runs through November 11, meeting every Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 550 Bourbon Street in Georgetown.
Participants will receive hands-on experience and classroom instruction on topics such as use of force, traffic stops, firearms simulations, and even hostage negotiation scenarios.
Spots are limited, and the department encourages interested community members to apply soon. Applications can be submitted online at georgetown-cpaaa.org.
