Georgetown PD recover 5 stolen guns in arrest
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Georgetown man is behind bars after police found him with 5 stolen handguns in his possession.
Officers say it happened on Thursday morning around 4:00 a.m. Police say two “suspicious” individuals were seen in the area of Ransom Trace and Ellen Court. When investigators confronted the two, they say they found the handguns on Carter K. Knox. Police say in addition to the guns, Knox was also carrying several GPS units, knives, binoculars, and assorted electronic equipment.
Knox was arrested and taken to the Scott Co. Detention Center, charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, theft of a firearm, and theft from a motor vehicle.
Officers say this is the second arrest for the Georgetown Police Department in less that a week for thefts from vehicles.
