Georgetown officer injured in Wisconsin is back home
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Georgetown Police Department says an officer who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Wisconsin is back in Kentucky.
Officer Cole Centner was in Wisconsin with his wife for their baby shower.
They are expecting their first child in July.
Centner was hit on a rural road and suffered a collapsed lung, several broken bones and a concussion.
According to the department, two fellow officers made the trip to Wisconsin on Tuesday to pick up Centner and his wife and bring them back to Georgetown.
The department says Centner is at a rehabilitation center and is expected to undergo more surgeries for his injuries.
The Georgetown Police Department says a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help out Centner.
