Georgetown man arrested in predator sting
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) -A Georgetown man has been arrested and indicted after an investigation by a Cybercrimes Unit, for using a computer to contact a minor for sex.
On Tuesday, 41-year-old Timothy S. Gaines, Jr was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on charges resulting from an investigation that began in July. Investigators say Gaines sent electronic messages to an undercover officer posing as a minor, for the purposes of engaging in illegal sexual acts.
Gaines’ charges are punishable by one to five years in prison. He remains in custody with a $25,000 cash bond.
