Georgetown man arrested after traffic stop uncovers suspected drugs and cash
SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Georgetown man is behind bars after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected drugs and cash.
According to police, officers stopped a vehicle Tuesday after observing it driving at fluctuating speeds and failing to stay within its lane.
Officers say the driver appeared to be under the influence and was taken into custody.
During the investigation, authorities say they discovered about an ounce of suspected methamphetamine, approximately two grams of suspected cocaine, and more than $700 in cash.
The driver was identified as 55-year-old Gary Powers. He is facing multiple charges, including reckless driving and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Additional charges related to the suspected drugs are pending as the investigation continues.
