Gas Prices Take Big Jump Wednesday

If you got gas on your way to work Wednesday morning, there was a good chance you paid less than three dollars a gallon.

If you waited until you got off work to fill-up, you may have paid well above three dollars a gallon.

In some locations in Lexington and surrounding areas, gas prices jumped as much as 33-cents a gallon, to $3.19.

Some industry analysts said it was because crude oil inventory was up and gas supply was down.

Everyone enjoyed the dramatic drop in gas prices over the last week to some of the lowest levels in 3-years.

Gasbuddy.com reported that nationwide in the last week, Americans spent over $100 million less on gas than they did a year ago.

There were still some gas stations in the area that had not hiked prices yet and there were long lines at many of those stations Wednesday evening.
