Gas leak at Home Depot forces evacuation
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Crews were out at a Home Depot in Lexington for hours Wednesday night following a gas leak.
Firefighters were called to the Home Depot on Richmond Road just after 11:30 p.m.
They say some workers doing construction nearby hit a gas line.
After getting high gas readings in the building, firefighters evacuated everyone inside.
They say employees were the only ones in the store at the time.
Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours, ventilating the building and checking gas readings.
Utility crews came out to repair the line.
