Garrard County police chief, K-9 injured in collision

LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Garrard County police chief and his K-9 officer were injured in a collision with a suspected impaired driver, according to police.

Investigators say a driver left his lane on U.S. 27 near Forks Baptist Church Sunday morning and collided with an SUV driven by Garrard County Police Chief Tevis Graham.

Chief Graham and the other driver, whose name wasn’t released, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

K-9 Officer Ranger was holding his paw following the crash and was taken to a veterinarian to be examined, according to investigators.

State Police are investigating the accident.
