Garrard Co. teacher charged with DUI after collision
Standord, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a school teacher has been charged with DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he ran off the road and hit several trees.
Investigators say they were called to assist Stanford police at about 10:20 Tuesday morning after they found a vehicle off of Lee Drive.
police say the driver, Stephen T. Grubbs was unconscious. According to a citation, Grubbs may have overdosed on heroin.
He was taken to Fort Logan Hospital and admitted.
Afterwards, he was charged.
The crash and the charges remain under investigation.
The Garrard County superintendent Corey Keith says that Grubbs has been suspended with pay pending further investigation.
