Garrard Co. man accused of kidnapping arrested in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-Lexington Police have arrested a Garrard County man accused of kidnapping a woman.

Officers say they found 49-year-old Joseph Wilson Saturday night.

Earlier in the day, police received a call from a mother who told officers Wilson was keeping her daughter in a hotel against her will.

When officers looked into it, Wilson had left the hotel and was reportedly driving with the woman through Fayette and Jessamine counties until police stopped them about three or four hours later on North Mount Tabor Road in Lexington.

Officers say the victim told them Wilson, who was reportedly her boyfriend, had beaten her and pointed a gun at her in the hotel room.

He’s charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. It is just one of several charges he’s now facing.
