Mercer County High School boys soccer coach killed in crash

BOYLE COUNTY, KY. (WTVQ) – A Mercer County High School boys soccer coach has died after a crash in Boyle County.
It happened Tuesday afternoon, when an SUV rear-ended a garbage truck. The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office says Garrett Stark was killed.
Mercer County schools released a statement saying the school’s Crisis Intervention Team is available for students and staff to help cope with the loss. Virtual or in-person meetings can be set up by emailing stacy.charles@mercer.kyschools.us or cynthia.russell@mercer.kyschools.us.
In a statement, Superintendent Dennis Davis says, “Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Coach Stark’s family and friends.”

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A garbage truck and passenger vehicle crashed Tuesday in Boyle County, killing a Harrodsburg man.
According to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, a blue SUV rear-ended the garbage truck around 1 p.m.
The driver had to be extracted from the car and taken to the hospital.
Deputies say witnesses told them the garbage truck was stopped to pick up trash at a home. A second truck was sitting behind it when the SUV hit it at a high speed. It isn’t clear why, but drugs and alcohol likely aren’t involved, according to deputies.
Garrett N. Stark of Harrodsburg was pronounced dead.
