Governor orders Flags at half-staff for fallen corrections officer
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Governor Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff Thursday in honor of 24-year-old Corrections Officer Hunter Miller. The gesture comes as family and friends prepare for Miller’s final farewell.
Miller died on July 25th following an incident during training for a special response team at the Northpoint Training Center. The flags will remain at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
According to his obituary, Miller’s funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at The Showroom on Lebanon Road in Danville.
