Funeral services set for boy who drowned in Eastern KY
MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The family of a young Martin County boy who drowned Christmas Day is asking for help paying for his funeral.
The family of 7-year-old Paul Luther Bowen says he was playing on the banks of the Tug River near Warfield when he fell in.
An hour later, his body was pulled out of the water.
His death was ruled an accident.
Bowen was a student at the Warfield Elementary School where, according to his obituary, he was loved by the staff and students alike.
His visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Thursday and his funeral will be at 12 p.m. Friday. Bowen’s visitation and funeral will both be at the Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield.
According to Mullins Family Funeral Home, in lieu of flowers, the family is asking contributions be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
