Funeral services held Wednesday for sisters killed in Lexington crash
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Funeral services held Wednesday for two sisters killed in another accident police say was caused by a drunk driver running from police.
According to officials 26-year-old Taylor Blevins, and 20-year-old Caitlyn Bailey were killed when police say their car was hit by Tammy Rodriguez.
According to police, Rodriguez was running from police when she made an abrupt u-turn at the I-64 and I-75 split and began driving the wrong way on I-75 North.
Police say she hit a Chevy Sonic head-on and then a Jeep, causing it to rollover.
One of the passengers in Rodriguez’ truck, 35-year-old Debbie Lynn Bevins, of Pikeville, was killed. Another passenger in the truck suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The driver of the Jeep suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Police say Rodriguez also suffered non life-threatening injuries.
She has been charged with driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without a license.
Rodriguez remains in the hospital.
