Funeral services announced for Jared Lorenzen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Funeral services have been announced for 38-year-old Jared Raymond Lorenzen.

Lorenzen of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away on July 3 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY.

He was a graduate of Highlands High School and the University of Kentucky.

A four-year starter for the Wildcats from 2000-03, Lorenzen was one of the most prolific quarterbacks in college football history.

He played two seasons in the National Football League and, following his NFL days, returned to live in Kentucky. He remained in the public eye through frequent appearances in the media.

“We are heartbroken for Jared’s family and friends,” Coach Mark Stoops said. “Since I’ve been here, it has been obvious that he was one of the most popular players in school history. He was a proud member of the Kentucky football family and he will be greatly missed by the Big Blue Nation.”

The obituary says a celebration of Jared’s life will be on Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 2:00PM-6:00PM.

Followed by a Christian Burial Service at 6:00PM at St. Pius X Church 348 Dudley Rd. Edgewood, KY 41017.
